PRIVACY POLICY

Planning and Design Center for Greener Ships (hereinafter “GSC”) acquires the personal information of clients in the course of providing services. In compliance with laws and regulations concerning personal information, we recognize that personal information is an important asset belonging to the individual, and we strive to provide our clients with dependability and a sense of security, and ensure appropriate handling of personal information.

1. Acquisition of personal information

We acquire personal information through proper means only, and will never acquire information through deception or any other wrongful means.

2. Use of personal information

We use personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the specified purposes of use. In the event that we use personal information beyond the scope necessary to achieve the specified purposes of use, we will notify the individual concerned of the necessary matters, and use the information only within the scope necessary to achieve the agreed purposes of use. However, this shall not apply in the following cases.

  2. When necessary to protect a person’s life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual

Prior to consigning the handling of personal information, wholly or in part, to a third party, we conduct rigorous investigations of the third party concerned, and implement the necessary and appropriate supervision over the third party to ensure the safe management of the consigned personal information.

5. Provision of personal information to third parties

We do not provide personal information to any third party without obtaining prior consent from the individual concerned, except as stipulated in the Act on the Protecting of Personal Information and other laws and regulations.

6. Disclosure, correction, etc. of personal information

When an individual requests for his/her personal information to be disclosed or to be notified of its purpose of use, we will promptly disclose the information or provide the notification. If, at such time, we are unable to identify that the request is from the individual concerned, we will not disclose the information or provide the notification.
When an individual requests for his/her personal information to be corrected, added to, or deleted due to a mistake in content, or when an individual requests that we suspend usage of, delete, or suspend provision of his/her personal information to a third party, we will promptly comply with the request after investigating. If, at such time, we are unable to identify that the request is from the individual concerned, we will not comply with the request.
